ECO Bucks recognizes and thanks residents of Bridgeton, Nockamixon and Tinicum Townships that have volunteered to have their wells monitored.
We thank the residents of nine properties who have volunteered to be part of the Groundwater Committee's Continuous Monitoring Network ( CMN ) where a transducer is place in the well to record water level every 30 minutes. The data are stored on a device located in a housing placed over the well cap.
We also thank the residents of 28 properties who have volunteered to be part of the Groundwater Committee's Static Water Level Network where well water levels are measured in the spring and fall.
We acknowledge the time and effort of an ECO Bucks board member who travels to each property, computer in hand, to download the data for analysis by the our board members and consultant hydrologist.
We note that our consultant hydrologist, a retired USGS scientist, has opined that the scientific research done by the Groundwater Committee over the past 20 years would have cost the USGS several million dollars.
